SIS Appoints Healthcare Industry Veteran Douglas Rempfer, Senior Vice President of Client Operations
ATLANTA – February 4, 2011 -Surgical Information Systems (“SIS”), a leader in perioperative information systems, has announced the appointment of Douglas Rempfer as Senior Vice President of Client Operations. With over 20 years of healthcare experience, Rempfer has a proven track record of implementing and supporting clinical systems. He joined Surgical Information Systems in October 2010 and has been leading the SIS Client Operations organization in supplying current and future clients with services; including implementation, support, training and consulting.
“We are excited to have Doug Rempfer join the SIS executive team,” said Ed Daihl, CEO. “Doug is a seasoned leader with a record of partnering with clients on successful implementations that deliver exceptional value. He is focused on exceeding clients’ service expectations and his addition to the SIS team positions us to handle the growing needs of our clients for interoperable systems that support their plans for meaningful use as well as meet emerging demand for new capabilities such as automating anesthesia documentation and delivering flexible analytics capabilities.”
Rempfer joins the SIS executive team from McKesson Corporation, where he was Vice President McKesson Provider Technologies, responsible for leading services across multiple solutions including EHRs, nursing, clinical decision support and analytics. Prior to McKesson, Rempfer held several management roles at Cerner Corporation, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Operations. He has also held multiple consulting roles including revenue cycle consulting for Shared Medical Systems, now part of Siemens Health Services.
“SIS is focused on meeting the unique needs of perioperative services and I am excited to be part of ensuring our clients realize value from SIS solutions quickly, efficiently, and easily,” said Rempfer. “The Operating Room (OR) contributes up to 60% of a hospital’s total margin and providers are under tremendous pressure to reduce the costs of delivering, high quality, care. By partnering with clients, we have a proven record of helping them achieve their perioperative goals of providing safe, efficient care processes that also optimize their financial performance.”
