Surgical Information Systems Chosen by Harrison Medical Center

January 18, 2007

Surgical Information Systems (SIS), the exclusive partner and provider of the Eclipsys Sunrise SurgeryTM solution, will soon help Harrison Medical Center, Bremerton, WA, improve care delivery and patient safety with its advanced integration and clinical and resource management capabilities.

"Harrison Medical Center is committed to excellence in healthcare delivery and patient safety, as evidenced by being a recent recipient of the HealthGrades Cardiac Surgery Excellence Award, with a number one ranking in Washington State and a top ten rank nationally,” said Scott W. Bosch, president and chief executive officer, Harrison Medical Center. With such a robust solution in its OR, which is one of the main drivers of overall hospital patient safety and quality scores, Harrison can expect to see even more patient safety improvements.

In addition to being such a large contributor to patient safety, the OR is also the largest cost and revenue generator in most hospitals.   Thus, Harrison Medical Center can also expect to see improved financial performance through the use of SIS’s robust functionality such as its Rules Based Charging application and its surgery specific business Analytics tools.

Once implemented, The SIS solution will help Harrison improve patient information flow across all acute and ambulatory care venues, providing its clinicians with an electronic medical record based on clinician-centered workflows. Harrison Medical Center will now have a comprehensive overview of patient data in a single view that is tailored to individual requirements so clinicians can easily see the full patient picture and make efficient, informed decisions about the care patients need.
