Rules Based Charging
SIS’ Rules Based Charging (RBC) application captures charge information as an automatic by-product of the clinical documentation process and submits it electronically to the billing department. In addition to freeing up valuable time for clinicians, this tool significantly improves reimbursements by eliminating missed charges and late penalties, and ensuring charges are documented in the manner that results in the highest possible reimbursements.
SIS RBC uses of 14 variables to trigger charge capture and calculates charge amounts based on a number of different algorithms including: varying OR time increments, flat rate, anesthesia type, procedure, implants, and more. This flexibility and advanced, multi-variable functionality makes SIS’ RBC module more effective than most other OR charging applications.
